NIPUN Odisha stands for National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy – Odisha.
It is a flagship program of the Government of Odisha under the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission, aligned with NEP 2020 and the national NIPUN Bharat Mission.

What Is NIPUN Odisha?

The main objective of NIPUN Odisha is to ensure that every child studying in Classes 1 to 3 in government and aided schools of Odisha achieves foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) skills by the end of Class 3.
It focuses on helping children read with comprehension, write meaningfully, and perform basic mathematical operations independently.

Full Objectives of NIPUN Odisha

1. Foundational Literacy Objectives

  • Enable every child to read simple texts fluently and with understanding.

  • Encourage children to write simple sentences and express ideas clearly.

  • Strengthen oral language skills through stories, rhymes, and conversations.

  • Build a strong base of vocabulary, comprehension, and communication.

2. Foundational Numeracy Objectives

  • Help students understand numbers, counting, and quantities.

  • Enable them to perform basic operations such as addition and subtraction.

  • Introduce measurement, patterns, and geometry through fun activities.
